Todo comienza con un sueño. (Everything starts with a dream)

My journey began in El Paso, TX, where I was born to hardworking parents who had migrated from Chihuahua, Mexico. My mother, a college freshman then, temporarily put her education on hold to raise me while my father worked as a dairy farmer in rural New Mexico. Witnessing my parents' struggles to provide for our family deeply impacted me. After relocating to Colorado to pursue a fresh start, I completed my high school education and I’m set to graduate from the University of Colorado Boulder with a BA in Political Science this Spring 2024. Despite facing numerous challenges and my family relocating back to rural New Mexico during college, I work multiple jobs to make ends meet, and my determination remains unwavering.

Serving as a Resident Advisor to afford housing and working diligently as a Juvenile Service Specialist in Boulder County, where I help troubled youth and their families, reflects my passion for advocacy.

Having experienced the same struggles of many families here in Boulder and having firsthand witnessed the challenges faced by students and families, I am driven by a deep desire to advocate for change.
